great great show.

All the wonderful people who came thank you!
It was a nice little turnout at the Fort Gallery and it was hot.

Really Really HOT.

All the bands were amazing.

Man/Miracle was so energetic and powerful and the drum fills made Trevor and I laugh.

Tempo no Tempo was dancy as hell and it was fun when they put the whole entire crowd to the other side of the room while we stood next to the drummer, chris, and the bassist and Tyler sang at us.

That was a first.

So entertaining.

Then we played and we were so happy that people enjoyed it and were having fun during our set. A lot of nice folks came up to us after and it was just a really great show for us.

Sleepy Sun blew my mind.

Plain simple.

We left while listening to The Magnetic Fields and It was grand.

cheers folks,

new lyrics

cassa
nova
wonder who the next girl
teach me
your ways
of picking up the chics

i know that your soul is dirty
that's why the devil won't let you go
i know your personality is grand
the girls won't let you leave their hand

cassanova
cassanova jerk X2

i know that your soul is dirty
that's why the devil won't let you go
i know your personality is grand
the girls won't let you leave their hand

sorry
i can't remember it all right now
i have the piece of paper at my other house, but that'll give you a little taste of it. The bridge is awesome, because it has a line about some pimp cassanova guy who wears yves st. laurent jeans. I have always wanted to throw some sort of lyric like that in a song. Also one about bali shag and the people who smoke it. Or a lyric about a man in his birthday suit. I was also thinking about writing a romance novel and taking inspiration from that. Lyrics are such an interesting art, because after a while you start to develop your style. Everyone as a songwriter knows that each person has their own delivery (for their lyrics), subject matter, and way they phrase their words whether it be if they annuciate heavily or slur. Songwriting and lyricism has been my focus the last year as a songwriter. I've just been trying to get better. Be sure to check out the new vox jaguars recording on our myspace. I put them up yesterday and since then we've gotten like 90 plays? Pretty good i'd say.

Patrick if you're reading this please listen.
We are also playing a show in Oakland next saturday with good friends and fellow rockers Tempo No Tempo, Man/Miracle, and Sleepy Sun (plus some other travelling bands). Come check it out if you can. It happens to be at the Fort Gallery.

shows

a ton of our shows were cancelled or tba.
no more santa clara university show.
crepe place show confirmed.
ucsc show with james rabbit confirmed.
starry plough show questionable.
no barack obama rally.
too long of a drive to play in a parking lot.
we are working on a new song.
i think it is going to be called "white wolf eyes"
good shit really clanky rhythm that turns into a double time chorus.
idk i think we may have to edit that part.
but we will be playing the Fort Gallery on june 21st with some bands who we haven't gotten to play with us yet.
that place used to be in sf but it is moving to oakland in early may.
here is a video our friends Man/Miracle playing there when it was in san francisco.

last night's practice

We had a practice last night, and i think it went pretty good. We hadn't played together since the show/recording so i expected it to be super rough. It was pretty damn good for our first real practice since coming back. Sam sounded good on the keys despite the fact we don't the same sounds on the Micro Korg as on the recordings. Adam told me he is working on getting us this module that has the Farfisa sound we really want for our live show. We have a ton of shows booked now. One is in Fresno, California and it is a Barack Obama peace rally April 19th in the Tower District area. Not sure if we are actually going to do it because it is so far but im pretty excited about how many we have. Next we have a show in Berkeley May 16th at this place called The Starry Plough w/ The Botticellis. It will be savage.
here is a photograph of the inside of the Irish pub:

We are also playing May 23rd at the Bronco at Santa Clara University w/ The which pretty close to San Jose. My friend John told me the stage is radical, and i trust his judgement (kind of hahaha).
That weekend is going to be insane because the next night may 24th we are playing the crepe place with the Botticellis. Adam helped us get the berkeley and crepe place show. Then on Monday night May 26th we are playing the UCSC Soundbox with one of our BFF Bands James Rabbit and some touring bands. After that we are trying to get more shows. I am setting up a show at the Fort Gallery in Oakland on June 21st. I am going to try and get either Comets on Fire or Howlin Rain to play. I love those bands! I'm sure they'd be down, because the brand new Fort Gallery in Oakland (it moved from San Francisco) it a much larger space. After that we have a show at Pergolesi on June 28th with The Attachments. And i'm also going to try and set up a show for Tempo No Tempo at either Metamusic or Pergolesi on June 6th. In short there are going to be a lot more show. BUSY TIMES! We also are working on a new song right now. It is called White Wolf Eyes.
